Shawn Talbot is one of Canada’s leading commercial photographers. He came to Ignite looking for an iconic brand image to elevate his market presence to the next level. Ignite set about developing a dynamic yet minimalist brand identity that complimented his photography rather than distract from it – all while capturing elements of Shawn’s unique approach.
Shawn’s logo incorporates a simple, yet striking icon that symbolizes the shot frame. The ‘frame’ icon was also used to reflect Shawn’s intense focus while shooting. A striking red and black (or red and white when reversed) colour scheme was chosen. Red is a colour symbolic of passion and intensity. It stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. Black is timeless and stylish and implies confidence and authority.
Ignite created a complete stationary package for Shawn including unique business cards that were trimmed down slightly from the standard height. The cards feature a smooth satin laminate that not only gives the cards a very high end feel, but helps to protect the cards, even repelling water (perfect for someone who specializes in photographing boats).
A series of specialized direct mail pieces were developed for Shawn, allowing him to target specific markets for his photography, including Marine, Architecture, and Commerical photography.
Finally, Ignite worked in partnership with a special web development firm to build a custom website to showcase Shawn Talbot’s amazing photography. Ignite designed and provided creative direction for the website, including a unique and effective navigation function, allowing the user of the site to quickly and easily navigate between galleries.
