LightLeaf Blended Apparel offers premium quality activewear and yoga apparel crafted from unique fabric blends of hemp or bamboo.
LightLeaf approached Ignite to develop their brand identity. The resulting brand features a bold simple icon, which can easily be printed or embroidered on clothing. The icon is inspired by the "tree" yoga pose, and a stylized leaf design. The font, while bold and strong is approachable and airy due to its subtle rounded corners and ample letter spacing.
The the business cards were printed on a carefully selected renewable bamboo stock using biomass inks.
We recently wrapped a fun logo design project for a new dog grooming startup here in Kelowna. As a second generation dog groomer, a love of everyone's favourite four-legged friend runs deep through the DNA of this brand. The owner wanted to convey a happy, light, and playful tone, while communicating her professionalism and compassion for animals.
We created a logo which features a predominant icon and stylized work mark. The word mark incorporates subtle serifs reminiscent of a dog's floppy ears. The icon uses negative space between two big droopy ears, and a bow that doubles as a bowtie to create the dogs happy face. We topped it off with the subtle use of an upside down heart shaped nose.
Shawn Talbot is one of Canada’s leading commercial photographers. He came to Ignite looking for an iconic brand image to elevate his market presence to the next level. Ignite set about developing a dynamic yet minimalist brand identity that complimented his photography rather than distract from it – all while capturing elements of Shawn’s unique approach.
Shawn’s logo incorporates a simple, yet striking icon that symbolizes the shot frame. The ‘frame’ icon was also used to reflect Shawn’s intense focus while shooting. A striking red and black (or red and white when reversed) colour scheme was chosen. Red is a colour symbolic of passion and intensity. It stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. Black is timeless and stylish and implies confidence and authority.
Ignite created a complete stationary package for Shawn including unique business cards that were trimmed down slightly from the standard height. The cards feature a smooth satin laminate that not only gives the cards a very high end feel, but helps to protect the cards, even repelling water (perfect for someone who specializes in photographing boats).
A series of specialized direct mail pieces were developed for Shawn, allowing him to target specific markets for his photography, including Marine, Architecture, and Commerical photography.
Finally, Ignite worked in partnership with a special web development firm to build a custom website to showcase Shawn Talbot’s amazing photography. Ignite designed and provided creative direction for the website, including a unique and effective navigation function, allowing the user of the site to quickly and easily navigate between galleries.

Appletree Custom Woodworking in Cranbrook, British Columbia creates original handcrafted furniture, signs, and home decor items with an attention to detail and workmanship from a time gone by.
Appletree contracted Ignite to develop their identity, looking to capture the authentic personality their brand. The resulting branding is raw, edgy, cool, and very vintage. From the distressed stamped ink texture incorporated into the logo, to the black matte business cards, and contrasting silver metallic ink, the identity reflects the masculine tones of an old-world wood shop, blended with a sexy new-school vibe.
Arc Impressions is a Calgary based, high-end mobile welding business. Arc Impressions specializes in custom luxury home applications, including stainless countertops, railings, fences, gates and more.
Arc came to Ignite seeking an updated brand image. Their current branding had been focused more at an industrial customer and had not been updated to reflect the shift to luxury residential applications.
Ignite set about designing a strong, simple, yet refined logo for Arc, and accompanying business cards. The logo set includes two variations of the logo, a glossy metallic version, and a simple dark grey version, to be used depending on the application.
The business cards feature a smooth satin laminate with a clear spot gloss over just the logo and icon, and a unique 2-rounded-corner design.

Regency Retirement Resorts are the Okanagan’s finest retirement residences providing superior retirement living that maximizes the enjoyment of life for their residents.
Regency has been working exclusively with Ignite design since early 2010, starting with a complete rebrand including logos, colours, naming protocols, corporate stationary, presentation folders, sales materials, website, and more.
The updated brand materials were designed to reflect Regency’s belief that retirement is not about limitations and restrictions, but the expanded freedom to explore, discover, engage and enjoy. From the rich vibrant colour scheme to the fun and engaging photography, the Regency brand image is full of life and vigor.
The presentation folder that holds all of the information provided to new and prospective residents allowed for some real creative freedom. Ignite set about designing a folder that looked more like a scrapbook full of great memories, than a corporate sales kit. The folder features a collection of old photographs mixed with new, collections of ticket stubs and old love letters. The cover features a multilevel embossed photograph, complete with old fashioned photograph corner tabs that were again used on the inside of the folder to hold business cards on the interior pocket.
This scrapbook concept has been used extensively throughout Regency’s marketing materials and advertising.
Loyal Hair Therapy is Kelowna's marketing leading hair salon.
Ignite has been engaged with the LHT brand from the very beginning in 2007, with the development of the logo and brand identity. The Loyal Hair Therapy logo is simple, classy, sophisticated, modern and bold. The lime green pops from the deep rich black to grab attention and leave a lasting impression. The icon itself was designed to create an abstract “L” as well as mimic a lock of hair.
Business cards were updated late last year, incorporating some unique printing techniques. The cards feature a thick uncoated card stock flooded with black on one side, and bright lime green on the other. The black side of the cards also incorporates an intricate clear gloss foil pattern that is truly stunning.
In 2010, Ignite injected new life and passion into Loyal’s marketing efforts with the bold and sometimes edgy “OWN IT.” campaign, and current positioning line.
The “OWN IT.” campaign let the marketplace know; Loyal Hair Therapy is a brand that embodies ‘attitude’ without apology or exception. They are quality, extravagance, flamboyance, success, control, performance and ambition. But above all else, the Loyal Hair Therapy brand is an attitude, one that insists – know who you are… own it!
The “OWN IT.” campaign went as far as taking negative labels that are often used in a derogatory or demeaning manner and flipping it around. The “Own Bitch” ad, for example, was about being confident, driven and uncompromising, though it did create quite a stir.
Shawn Talbot and Jan Vozenilek, a well-known photographer and cinematographer respectively, recently launched their latest photographic venture, an eight-blade Unmanned Aerial Vehicle they are calling Rubicon Aerial Cinema.
Ignite was engaged early in the planning stage to aid in the development of a strong brand for this unique venture. In addition to logo design, and business cards, we aided in the creation of a cleaver teaser campaign utilizing the military roots of the UAV. Realistic looking "classified" documents were hand delivered to key prospects throughout the Okanagan valley. These documents were each customized with a specific code which could be entered at the Rubicon Special Ops website, allowing the prospect a customized preview of Rubicon's capabilities.
The business cards we developed are as unique and memorable as the "octocopter" they represent. A bright orange layer is sandwiched between two black layers creating an über thick, high quality feel. The cards are then finished with a silky matte laminate, and a subtle spot gloss, stealthily displayed on the contact side of the card.

Ironwood Residential Design is a custom home design firm based in Penticton, British Columbia.
Ignite was engaged to develop a signature brand that lived up to the high standard of the homes they design. An in-depth Discovery Session yielded a wealth of ideas and inspiration on which the new brand identity was developed.
The icon in the logo was inspired by the classic monograms often found on wrought iron gates and family crests, while the association with ‘iron’ was utilized to help with name recollection. The final logo captured the essence of the brand perfectly and the client was thrilled with the result.
Business cards were designed, which feature a unique die cut shape that follows the curve of the round icon. The design was kept clean and uncluttered, and an ultra thick uncoated stock was selected to give the cards a strong confident feel.
To tie the brand together across all media, a WordPress website was developed

The Bowmont is an iconic motel on Penticton’s picturesque waterfront. Established in 1962, the motel has provided a home away from home for thousands of visitors over the years and remains a favourite among young families. However, the Bowmont was suffering from a stale brand image, in need of a refresh and a new direction for their advertising.
The resulting brand identity and creative strategy is a throw back to a time gone by, yet full of classic values that never age. The authentic history and retro styling of the motel provided the inspiration for the creation of a vintage, laid-back beach vibe brand. Focusing on the family friendly and social aspect of the motel and its open courtyard, the new advertising creative is approachable, welcoming, and authentic.

Steve’s Board & Apparel Shop in Steveston, a historic suburb of Richmond, came to Ignite looking for a refreshed logo and slogan recommendations. This funky board shop is a retailer of long-boards and a wide variety of brand name apparel. Wanting to increase awareness of their apparel selection without losing their long-board base consumer was the challenge.
The new logo utilizes a friendly, approachable, yet edgy hand-written script styling that was created entirely from scratch. The unique comma was a carry over from the former logo as a way to bridge the old with the new. Bold and simple, the all black and white logo treatment is trendy yet timeless and allows for various colour treatments to be added and changed based on the application, such as branded t-shirts, and caps.
BC Tree Fruits attends the Fresh Summit Convention & Exposition annually. As part of their booth presence, they personally send invites to produce buyers from across North America to visit their booth at the expo.
Ignite created this very tactile invitation for the 2010 conference in Orlando Florida. The invitation features several unique design features including a custom die-cut tab in the shape of the BC Brand logo to hold the invites closed, and a carefully selected textured stock. The rough texture of the stock works with the graphical texture of the old wood crate to create the illusion of holding real wood in your hands.
Range Rider is an industry leader dedicated to building and supplying truck canopies and tonneau covers of the highest quality and design that appeal to the informed buyer.
Ignite redesigned the Range Rider sales package, including business cards and canopy catalog. The new design featured a rugged personality and emphasized the “Live. Work. Play.” utility of the products Range Rider is famous for.
The Range Rider business cards incorporated a unique finish of matte laminate on both sides, and a pop of high gloss spot UV over the image of the yellow truck and canopy in the bottom corner.
